What to expect your first few weeks…

What to expect during the first month at Dance It Out…

The first class and even the first several classes of a new season can feel a little nerve wracking as a dancer, gymnast, or parent. What should one expect?  We are here to answer all of those questions for you to make the first month go smoothly for you and your child.  Below, you will find some common questions answered. If we have not answered something for you, please leave your question in the comments!

How do I enter the studio?

There is one door to enter and exit the studio. As you enter, you will find the front desk to the left. Mrs. Tammy or Miss Emily will greet you and help assist with any questions. Your child can change their shoes and sit in a chair provided as they wait for their class to begin. It is always a good idea to arrive a few minutes early for class.

Your child’s teacher or assistant will line up the class and walk them to their classroom at the start of each class. They will also escort them back to the front desk for dismissal at the end of class. We ask that you please come into the studio to pick up your child. We cannot let them exit the building alone.

What will they learn in class the first month of a new season?

During the month of September, all classes will be working on building a positive classroom community, reviewing skills from previous years, and learning classroom routines. These building blocks are necessary for a successful year and each teacher adds plenty of fun to the curriculum as we review and get to know one another. For our youngest dancers, this can be a difficult time of separation, and we ask that you trust the process as our teachers are trained to support your child during this period of transition.

How do I find out about studio events?

At the beginning of each month, you will receive a newsletter specific to Dance It Out and Flip It Out giving important information regarding upcoming events. Please be sure to check your Junk mail and let the office know if you are not receiving these emails.  We will also have updates posted throughout the studio. Our studio always has a lot of ways to plug in to community events throughout the year, so be sure to stay tuned!

Our Facebook pages are also a great follow as we update these daily with pictures, announcements, and upcoming events.

We are so excited for a great year!
