Amanda & Maurice Ellis

Amanda Ellis currently teaches chorus and general music at Lunenburg Middle School and Central High School in Lunenburg County. Amanda has a music degree, with a concentration in voice, from Longwood University. While at Longwood Amanda sang as a soloist and in various choirs including Chamber Singers, Camerata Singers and an a cappella group in which she was one of the founders, Pitch Perfect (this was before the popular movie). After college Amanda continued performing professionally in varies churches in Virginia. Amanda has taught pre-k through 12th grade general music and chorus classes as well as private voice and piano lessons. She serves as the drama coach at Central High School where she just directed their first musical in over 30 years.









Her husband, Maurice Ellis, who has a music education degree from Longwood University and is the band director for Lunenburg County Public Schools, will be assisting with Sing It Out classes. He has performed as a soloist and in choirs at Longwood University. He has recently performed in musical theatre performances with Waterworks Players in Farmville, VA and with Southside Area Community Theatre. Music is a huge part of both of their lives, and they are excited to enrich, educate and encourage the young singers at the Sing It Out students.
